What it drives
Six ways to connect, listed so you can check yours before you pay rather than after. Four are driven straight from your own machine. Two are driven through their makers' cloud services, and that is said plainly below.
Driven from your machine
Local connections
Nothing about these leaves your PC. The motion goes down your own cable or across your own network.
SR6, OSR2 and other TCode devices — USB serial
Pick the COM port and go. This is the path with the most to gain from the rest of Tandem: multi-axis scripts load automatically, and axes the script never had can be generated — twist, roll, pitch, surge, sway and vibration.
Intiface / Buttplug
Lovense and most Bluetooth devices, through Intiface Central. Start Intiface first,
point Tandem at it — the default is ws://127.0.0.1:12345 — and Tandem uses
whatever it has connected.
UDP TCode
Sends TCode to a listener on your LAN: a bridge of your own, a simulator, or a preview window. Useful if your hardware already speaks TCode but not over a serial port.
WebSocket TCode
The same stream over a WebSocket endpoint — another application, or an OSR bridge. You give it the URL.
Driven through their makers' services
Cloud connections
These two devices offer no local interface. Playing to either one sends your script's motion out to the maker's service while it plays.
That is how the hardware works, not a choice Tandem made, and it is the one thing on this page worth knowing before you buy: if everything staying on your own machine is the point for you, these two are not that.
The Handy
Needs an internet connection and your connection key. Paste the key, connect, play.
Autoblow AI
Needs an internet connection and your device token. Tandem matches stroke speed and depth through the device's oscillator.
And with nothing plugged in
No device
Tandem is a complete video player on its own: multi-folder library, search and filters, thumbnails, and an intensity strip under the picture that shows where the action is. The device parts wake up when a device appears.
And the motion files
Where scripts come from
You bring your own .funscript files. Tandem does not include or provide
any. The one way it can fetch a script is an optional script source you add yourself,
with a licence — section 07 of the overview has the
detail, and the full list of what it sends anywhere.
Companion files for extra axes are found automatically when they sit beside the main script under the usual names.
